ComputerWorld has the list of 24 questions HHS had for Piedmont Hospital (where my three children were born, incidentally, as well as my wife, though that was earlier). Adam points to an article on law.com about the government's increased focus on HIPAA compliance which includes this choice quote from Joseph Lazzarotti of Jackson Lewis' White Plains, N.Y., office and what he advises his clients:
"I want them to know that HIPAA does really mean something and the government is going to do something about it. What that is, well, it's more than they were doing yesterday," Lazzarotti said.Of course, that is not saying much since there have only been 4 convictions out of 26,000 complaints.

This will probably be the last 2.x release. It is pretty stable. We are now looking at some pretty big changes, though mostly they will be architectural changes not functional changes. Many, like support for Tomcat 5.x, will be very welcome. Others will be less noticeable - changes to the build system for example.

Hat tip to Daniel about Nokia's study regarding 3G cell phone usage. Unfortunately, it looks like the report is no longer available.Recent Posts
