patents-what-are-they-good-for

Adam has made a couple of posts about patents.

open-source-applications-we-have-reached-the-laugh

I am always amazed at the lack of understanding about how open source business models can work.

open-source-blackberry-killer

I am extremely excited about a potential open source Blackberry replacement.. I have a Blackberry and I love/hate it. I love the push email, but I don't think the email client is very good. Also, I run FC4 on my work laptop, so I don't synch with my calendar or address book. We do run a BES server, but only because we had to when testing the WiKID Blackberry sotware token. Yet, to do that we had to run Exchange and the BES on yet another box.

oracle-buys-thor

Oracle bought Thor, which I thought was very interesting. As Pete Lindstrom pointed out, it was a busy week for security-related acquisitions. This post at Digital ID World (hat tip to Venture Chronicles sums up my thoughts. I wonder if Oracle will go after RSA? I have my doubts. Oracle is just really going after Sun, IBM, etc.

password-equivalence

There's a nice discussion about password systems over at Educated Guess work. Since WiKID is a type of public key-based authentication system, I'm always interested when someone points out their superiority ;).
