nowenok18:21
bman1The goal is to make it simple and secure.  In addition to allowing users  to register themselves based on some existing credentials, < that part is what is desired not the pre-register bulk users, will look at email to see if that answer helps18:25
nowenso, ADRegister will allow them to register themselves based on AD creds.  Is that not what you want?18:27
bman1once they login via ad credentials, they are prompted to enter a registration code18:28
nowencorrect18:28
joevanohey nowen, nice vacation?18:28
bman1what we are looking for is to have them login via ad and not have to do another manual step for support on our side to have them access18:28
nowenyes, joevano. very nice.  happy new year!18:29
bman1nowen if your on vacation please take vacation lol18:29
nowenbman1: hehe, no I'm back ;)18:29
bman1if i was i wouldnt be in this irc chat window lol18:29
joevanosame to you... I did poorly keeping an eye on the channel last week ;-)18:29
bman1ok18:29
nowenjoevano: I'll have to dock your pay18:29
nowenbman1: once they enter the registration code, there is nothing for the admins to do.  they are fully registered18:30
bman1right seems proper to me , i think mgmt wants a blanket policy for any user active in AD, gonna try and talk some sense into them18:31
nowenare they objected to the entry of the reg code?18:31
bman1talked to them a bit, they understand more now, what they wanted was for our side to have a special AD grp for vpn users and then have wikid auth with that, so that any user that auth w that grp would be auto allowed18:52
bman1but l talked them into understanding that its fine to do w a reg code as its a verification step18:53
bman1and that once thats done its all in ad18:53
bman1so they are fine w that18:53
bman1thx18:53
nowenok18:53
nowenwhat have you been doing so far?18:54
bman1at current its very static w a postgres backend and as such people overlook sometimes and dont remove users18:54
bman1this will resolve that issue18:54
bman1so its good18:54
nowengood is good ;-)18:54
bman1since they wont be able to auth against ad, so ad account being disabled will lock them out18:55
bman1yeah thanks18:55
nowenso are you running it through NPS now?18:55
bman1no18:55
bman1not at current the plan is AD intergration so will look more at NPS18:56
nowenwell, that will allow you to require certain groups to have 2fa and a one-click disablement for remote access18:57
bman1k thx19:03
