VicOfTheNorthHey All,19:50
nowenhi VicOfTheNorth19:50
VicOfTheNorthI have a question about WIKID use with VMWARE, can it be used with VM View clients (current versions)19:50
nowenhmm19:50
nowenwhat authentication protocols does vmware view support?19:51
nowendoes it support radius?19:51
VicOfTheNorthI am also acting as a middle man here as our VMWare view guy is elsewhere.  Just a sec and I'll get the protocols question answered19:51
VicOfTheNorthYES! it supports radius. (I have been told)19:51
nowenyes, looks like 5.1 and higher19:51
nowenso, the answer is yes19:51
VicOfTheNorthawsome... Dumb question and obviously means I have read almost nothing in depth about WIKID.  Is the Radius server setup on soemthing like a WIN2K8 box or Ubuntu system?19:52
nowenwell, you can have the vmware view talk radius to WiKID without a dedicated radius server.  But, if, for example, you are running AD, it would be good to set up NPS as a real radius server19:53
nowenif you are asking what OS WiKID runs on, it is linux-based, but we have an ISO that requires no real linux knowledge19:54
VicOfTheNorthok, Thanks very much!  I'll dive into some reading, I saw the bit about the ISO and that looks appealing as we have put a lot of work into our VMWare environment recently and have good performance/redundancy there.  Many thanks for the help and for your time!19:55
nowenyes, we get a lot of vmware deployments19:55
nowenjust use an lsi scsi, legacy e1000 nics19:55
nowenit is based on centos19:55
VicOfTheNorthah, very good info.  I'll remember the OS and NIC bits for our install.  looks awsome and will fastrack our implementation :)19:56
nowenI'm downloading the free eval of View too19:59
nowendamn. windows20:00
