What's new in 3.0

Details of what is new in our 3.0 release of the WiKID Strong Authentication Server.

  • Upgraded required components to Java 1.5, Tomcat 5.5, ApacheDS 1.0.1
  • Cleaner delineation of concerns (e.g., no longer putting unnecessary JARs into JDK's ext)
  • Removed unnecessary demo.war and signup.war - Can be provided if you really want them.
  • Support for PostgreSQL 8.x
  • Updated and renamed scripts. The app is contolled via /opt/WiKID/bin/wikidctl and invoked through "wikidctl setup", "wikidctl start" and "wikidctl stop"
  • The server can be started without a passphrase by creating /etc/WiKID/security and entering "WAUTH_PASSPHRASE=passphrase" on the first line. This allows a restart without manual intervention, required for automated failover.
  • Improved logging, transitioned to log4j
  • ISO and VMWare images converted from Fedora to CentOS
  • Support for PUT in server for proxy requirements
    • A number of Bug-fixes:
    • Improved handling of non-alphanumeric characters in certificate processing.
    • Fixed domain deletion bug.
    • Fixed erroronous links.
